Weekly Update 18/2024
Hi!
This week, I've been tackling the issue of file sizes for images and animations in the game. While the visuals have significantly improved, I've noticed that individual pictures and animations have become much larger. Initially, I suspected that the problem stemmed from the new post-processing system. Consequently, I ran all the visuals through post-processing again, only to realize that it wasn't the root cause.
Upon further investigation, I discovered that the issue lies with images and videos where Depth of Field in Daz Studio couldn't be utilized due to room size constraints. Although this update contains more content than the previous one, the increase in size isn't solely attributable to the additional material. As a result, I find myself at a crossroads. I'm hesitant to re-render multiple events as it would be time-consuming.
One potential solution could be to exclude the largest animations and images from the game. However, I'm still weighing the pros and cons of this approach. I'll need to decide soon, with the early access release just a week away on May 10.
In the meantime, I've initiated testing for the new update to ensure a smooth early access release.
Have a great weekend!
Regards,
Nemiegs
Lord love a duck! There are so many considerations, you almost need an engineering degree, maybe even a masters.
I learn it all on the go. When I started the game I had no visual art experience and I did not know how to code. It is an interesting journey for sure 😅
