"Where is Love?" is a choice-driven dark comedy visual novel that questions notions of family. Love isn't a gentle breeze or a warm hug - it's a twisted manipulation game, challenging your sense of right and wrong. There are no butterflies in your stomach, only the harsh reality of cocaine's sting in your nostrils and the acrid aftertaste of vodka.
The choice-driven nature of the game is inspired by titles like Slay the Princess, Scarlet Hollow, and Class of '09.
The game aims to strike a balance of narrative and adult material - so if you are looking for a 'fully adult-focused title' it might not be for you. The relationships are meant to be realistic, with very real consequences of your choices. Incest is the main theme of this title.
Story Overview
Two months ago, you fled the suffocating confines of home with Lily, your adopted sister. She's got a talent for leading you down the rabbit hole of booze and drugs, and you can't resist the pull.
Zoey, unlike Lily, wasn't discarded by their parents like yesterday's trash. Behind that angelic smile lurks a mischievous smirk... No one knows what drives her, but whenever she shows up, the world goes straight to hell.
Sarah, your flesh and blood, is a pranking light in the darkness, pleading with you to live together in the safety of your home. Once a strong and independent older sister, a violent incident involving your father left her emotionally shattered.

Weekly Report - May 22: Steam page is Live, New Feature, Render Overhaul
Alright, a couple of updates before I turn off to fully focus on game dev, just so you know I am alive and working.
This will be the last public post on Subscribestar - everything else will only be available for Free followers. I want to start encouraging people to follow so I can build an active community here (along with other forums like F95).
I know there hasn't been a lot of adult content (yet), but I wanted to prioritize writing and overall story first. It's in the works.
I will update all media on my various pages to better reflect my final style. Surprisingly, it takes a lot of time.
And lastly, the next update will be when I release the first version.

It would be appreciated. When it comes to Steam - wishlists are (almost) the main things that matter when it comes to the game getting a good reach. I will try to get it into Steam fest too, and aim to release the full version on the 28th of October 2024.
Having this sort of deadline pushes me more.
Second Update: New In-Game Feature (Kinda)
So, I've recently started playing Scarlett Hollow. If you haven't played it already - holy shit, it is so good. What I liked about this game is the 'Explore' mechanic. In simplicity, it's just a dialogue mechanic where you can ask questions and learn about the story without advancing the game - but with a sweet cherry that the questions you ask profoundly affect how characters treat you. And also, if you ask too many questions or the wrong ones, it affects character reactions toward you.
I really like that. The game is already heavily choice-driven without a common route, and compared to building that - writing those extra branches of dialogue is (comparatively) a lower effort, but it will give even more replayability.
TL:DR - there will be more optional dialogue, which whether you actually pursue it or not - will affect the story.
Third Update: Render Quality
So, it's pretty obvious that the deeper I go, the better I understand how I want to style the game. However, what it also means is that after reaching a certain point - I had to redo almost all renders... While it took so much time, everything looks better now. However, there were some fuckups with lighting, so it kinda escalated and ate a lot of time.
Anyways, to be brief, shit looks way better now, there is much more of it. I left Adult content development for the last 6 days before I want to publish the first version - so here is some more SFW imagery, hope you like the vibes.
Admittedly, I am struggling a bit with the speed of the content production (it takes a shockingly long time) - but at the same time, I am happy with the writing and quality of visuals. The music is pretty good too.
I hope I can make the end of May deadline I set, but if the shit isn't good enough, I will take as much time as needed until it's good enough. Not rushing to ruin everything with a bad first release.
